WebApr 14, 2008 · Many (most) amps have a switched input jack, which grounds the input of the amp when the cable is unplugged. of course this only applies if you unplg from the input jack. unplugging the cable from the guitar jack leaves the cable attached to the amp, thus NOT grounding the input, and that is not a great thing to do. WebApr 5, 2024 · With a combination control, inevitably you will change your presence setting a bit when when you mute or unmute the amp. Hopefully the control is not overly sensitive like the mute/master volume control on the Mesa M9 Carbine. The mute function is built into the M9's foot switch but I never use it.
