The OPs are excellent for normal riding. The OP rims have up to 36 spoke holes - more than that would be a special use like heavy touring or a tandem. I will be running with 32mm or 30/28mm tyres (Schwalbe Marathon Supremes or Continental Top Contacts, probably). My slightly cynical take on this is that very probably the material is actually the same grade, but the Maxtal variant is just age-hardened, where the basic 6106 isn't.
